Big Ice: The Ultimate Experience on the Perito Moreno Glacier

Big Ice is the most intense glacial experience there is. It's not for everyone: it's reserved for adventurers of 18 to 50 years old with excellent physical condition who want to delve into the heart of Perito Moreno Glacier.

After a 20-minute sail through Rico Arm, Equipped with crampons and a helmet, you will walk 4 hours on the ice exploring blue lagoons, deep crevasses and ice caves. Unlike the Minitrekking (1 hour 30 minutes), Big Ice takes you much further out onto the glacier.

At the end, you will sail in front of the south face of the glacier while you toast with a whisky with thousand-year-old ice. Small groups of 10 people with 2 mountain guides.

Which one is right for you?

If you are looking for the ultimate adventure and you are in excellent physical shape → I chose Big Ice. It's a 4-hour exploration of the heart of the glacier: ice caves, deep crevasses, and blue lagoons. Ultra-small groups of 10 people with 2 mountain guides. The most intense experience available on the Perito Moreno Glacier.
If you are traveling with your family or if it is your first time on a glacier → I chose Minitrekking. The classic experience: 1 hour 30 minutes on the ice with medium difficulty, accessible from 8 years old. It is the ideal gateway to the world of glacier trekking.
If you've already done the Minitrekking and want more of a challenge → I chose Minitrekking 2. Explore 6 km through less-traveled areas of the glacier, including the Cascada de las Cotorras (Parrot Waterfall). Groups of up to 10 people per guide.
If you are traveling with small children or over 65 years of age → I chose Blue Safari. You do not walk on the ice but you sail in front of the south wall of the glacier and trek through the coastal forest. Suitable for all ages.
