Which one is right for you?

If you want folklore, a live show and an afternoon-evening experience → I chose Estancia 25 de Mayo. The afternoon option includes sheep herding, sheep shearing, and a snack. The afternoon + dinner option adds roast lamb, empanadas, and a live folk dance performance. Located at the foot of Cerro Calafate, a few kilometers from town. Perfect to combine with morning tours or for those who prefer evening experiences.
If you're looking for the most complete gaucho experience with a full day → I chose Nibepo Aike Ranch. A full-day excursion including sheep shearing, herding with sheepdogs, gaucho skills demonstrations, and a climb to Cerro Cristal for views of the Perito Moreno Glacier. Lunch features spit-roasted Patagonian lamb. Located further from town (60 km), this is the most authentic and rural estancia.
If you prefer to observe the stars under the Patagonian sky → I chose Calafate Night. It's not a traditional stay, but it includes dinner at a historic restaurant and stargazing with telescopes. One of the 10 best skies in the world for astrotourism. Ideal to combine with day tours.
If you want to experience ancient culture with dinner in caves → I chose Nativo Experience. A 4x4 tour to the Walichu Caves, Tehuelche cave paintings, and a Patagonian dinner served inside the cave. A cultural and historical focus, not so much on gaucho traditions. A unique experience combining archaeology and gastronomy.
