Blue Safari: Sailing and Hiking alongside the Perito Moreno Glacier

The closest experience to a glacier without stepping on the ice. Safari Azul is the ideal alternative for those who want to experience the majesty of the Perito Moreno Glacier without the physical requirements of Minitrekking.

From the Puerto Bajo de las Sombras, you will cross the Lake Argentino's Brazo Rico by boat to disembark on the opposite coast. There you will take a walk along the Magellanic forest with a direct view of the south face of the glacier, where you can hear the creaking and see the rockfalls.

After the hike, you'll sail within a few meters of the ice wall before returning to the panoramic walkways where you will have 2 free hours to explore the balconies.

Which one is right for you?

If you're traveling with children, seniors, or don't want to walk on ice → I chose Blue Safari. You sail past the south face of the glacier, walk through the coastal forest, and finish on the walkways. Suitable for ages 6 to 70, low-medium difficulty, no special physical requirements.
If you want to step on the ice for the first time and you're traveling with an active family → I chose Minitrekking. 1 hour 30 minutes walking on the glacier with crampons, medium difficulty. It is the most popular experience in El Calafate. Suitable for ages 8-65.
If you are looking for the ultimate adventure and you are in excellent physical shape → I chose Big Ice. 4 hours exploring caves, crevasses, and lagoons in the heart of the glacier. Groups of 10 people. Requires ages 18-50 and very good physical condition.
If you prefer a relaxed experience from the viewpoints → I chose Catwalks. Explore the 5 balconies at your own pace with 4-5 hours free. No age or physical effort restrictions. Optional boat trip available.
